I'm thinking about adding a Surf Spots section to my film and other blog site. What it would effectively do is show the surf spots that I have found during my travels through Europe, Bali, East Coast of Australia, Mexico etc etc.
I would also plot places to sleep, sources of water, nice views, and interesting places.
It's basically a guide to where I've been and how I've done it, so someone doesn't have to spend the 30 minutes extra driving around trying to find a free parking area at 10pm when they've been driving for 12 hours on a hangover........... not that I ever had to do that ;)
My main concern is that occasionally people have been upset about my directions to certain spots, even after they've been searching for the spot, found it, and then are upset that they've found it..........
Here's an example of what I mean from google maps and tiny url of the surf spots in Baleal, Portugal.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Once in a lifetime journey beginning and ending in Darwin..... but actually still hasn not ended. In between has been Brisbane, Sydney, Hawaii, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Baja California, Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Miami, New York, Dublin, Cardiff, Italy, Amsterdam, Spain, Portugal, France, and the UK. Thousands of adventures to come......

Surf Spots in Darwin
I had another bunch of Google Map ideas during a meeting at work today.
I quickly put this together, but I've got to get more information together and make it as detailed as possible.

I think I'm going to keep a MyMap alive for my trip around the world, keep linking it back to the blog, and also to Myspace for videos.

Google Surfing Maps
I've been playing around a little bit with getting Surf Maps to appear using the Google Maps functions.
I managed to get the first couple working well on my footage blog, and then tried to recreate it with another blog which I will dedicate entirely to Surf Spots. Unfortunately only one map is working on this site at the moment, but that leads me to the next step.
I came across a tutorial from the Ajax Search API Hack blog site and intend to implement.
Fingers crossed, and i'll be sure to keep you updated as it goes. I'll be documenting and adding each surf location on my "Surf the Dream" tour for anyone that happens to follow in my footsteps.
